The Walt Disney Company offers a variety of professional internships, and I was able to be a part of the Walt Disney World Entertainment Technician Professional Internship program of Fall 2022. For four months I was able to get a glimpse into a number of entertainment offerings that the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida offers to its guests.

From September to December I had the wonderful opportunity to catch a glimpse at what the daily operations look like to mount an evening fireworks spectacular at Epcot’s Harmonious, become part of the Festival of the Lion King as a deck technician, help to mount numerous events from corporate dinners and awards to RunDisney marathons, help Tinkerbell fly from the top of the Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom, among a plethora of other opportunities.

This internship really opened my eyes to the range of entertainment Disney offers, from live bands, to parades, to fully mounted stage productions, to fireworks shows, to marathons. I was able to make some meaningful connections with my fellow interns, mentors, and the many technicians, designers, and managers I was able to work with during the course of this internship.
